Walking for health

Did you know that walking for just 2.5 hours each week (about 21 minutes a day) can help cut your chances of getting heart disease by 30 percent? Walking can help lower cholesterol and blood pressure. It can help fight off diseases like diabetes and cancer.

The Town of LaGrange recognized the importance of a designated path to improve the community and help residents achieve some of the many benefits of walking. With the help of a Wyoming Department of Transportation grant, it created the 0.60-mile Longhorn Lane in 2010.

The path starts at the corner of Highway 151 and 3rd Avenue and continues past the soccer field and around the LaGrange Riding Arena to end at the Bill Ward Memorial Playground. The route is lit and features benches and picnic tables. It’s a wonderful community amenity.
