The Western History Center is a private non-profit archeological and historic preservation museum/center. The Center has several displays to explore. For over 30 years the Center has been sponsoring and supporting archeological digs to salvage historic and prehistoric sites that are in imminent danger of being lost to erosion, land development and/or neglect. Because of the work of the Center over 50 sites have been explored and historical information that otherwise would have been lost forever, has been preserved. The Center is located right on the Mormon Trail, a branch of the Oregon/California Emigrant Trail and many other historic trails that ran through the area. There are also paleontological displays and a mineral florescence room. The admission is free but a free will donation is appreciated.
